Inspired by the work of Franz Kline’s paintings and his exploration of everyday objects, minimal architecture and industrial icons through the use of line coinciding with each other to create basic lineal forms.

Using line in its purest form I put together a variety of linear marks that take on their own forms once again. Building the body up from lines and small curves, that in their own right create voluminous shapes, letting their geometry balance on a soft basic under silhouette.

Taking reference from decorative architecture each garment reflects the iconic structures and movement of Hong Kong, Milan, Istanbul, Paris and London. The colour throughout this collection is juxtapositioned with the colours of each of these places to bring a consistent harmony.

This work is reductive in relation to the body and works towards sculptural concerns – maintaining geometrical forms and exploring these shapes through the use of varied lines. The body is a canvas that holds and releases lines over the edges of its simple surface.

Bringing together conflicting structural elements to fashion balance in the fluidity of static forms, these lines bridge a gap between the maximal and minimal, clean and fluid and the feminine but structurally elegant forms that allude to a magical world of moving sculpture.
